Maton EG45A 1962

$2,450.00

This is one of the cleanest Maton EG45 / Premier full bodied cutaway guitars we have seen.  Documentation with the guitar from Maton dates it to mid 1962.  The  ‘A’ designation indicates two great sounding single coil pickups on this (Maton used ‘S’ for single pickup variants).  The bound pale burst finish is very attractive, at 6.5 lbs this guitar is very light and resonant.  The pickups – we believe wound by Bert Moody for Maton – are strong with P90-ish characteristics, with vol, tone and cute chicken head selectopr.  The guitar plays very smoothly. Fret wear is neglible, very confortable to play with 1-11/16” nut width, a full C shape and a fretboard radius of 9.5″. A charming and attractive player, with vintage 2-tone Stamford hard case as shown.
