Consignment!
If you have instrument, amplifier, guitar pedal of interest for sale, talk to us about consignment options, we are happy to consign your gear.

We can provide written valuations to confirm current market value of any one or more instruments, available face to face or online.
No cost if you consign
Consignment
Contact us to discuss how we might be able to help you value, consign or buy your instrument. CVG will then do some thorough research on your instrument and work with you to reach and agreed price.
At this point we can either buy your instrument or consign it with CVG. If you choose to consign your instrument, we will draw up a contract that protects both you and CVG (see our policy section for more detail). We then list your instrument on our website and promote it to our client contact list.
When your instrument sells, we pay you 80% of the sale price and CVG retains a commission of 20% (See our policy section for more detail and GST considerations)
Electric Instruments
We specialise in vintage gear but always try to carry a wide range of affordable electric instruments as well. If you are looking for something in particular, contact us as we may have something on our books that hasn't been posted yet.
Acoustic Instruments
We will always have acoustic instruments of some form in the shop. This includes guitars, mandolins, resonators, banjos, ukes.. and from time to time, more unusual gear. Contact us if you are looking for something specific.
Other
Everything else we have for sale falls under the heading of other. This might be guitar pedals, guitar pickups, memorabilia, retro drum kits... anything is possible... check the link for a current list.

Valuation
We are vintage guitar enthusiasts and are always interested in helping others understand the value, detail and history of their stringed instruments and accessories.
We are happy to provide free preliminary evaluations for individual instruments and collections that are to be consigned, however if you are just curious about what your instrument might be worth we do provide a costed service as well.
The process is simple and usually takes a coffee type conversation with us followed by research prior to a contract consignment.The instrument is only sold in conversations with you, and only once permission is granted. Capital Vintage Guitars works on a 20% commission, and the balance is transferred to you.
