Hofner Congress 1964

This is one of the cleanest old Hofners we have seen. In this era, Selmer in London were distributing Hofners and adding the serial numbers – in this case 14033 indicating mid-1964. This  guitar would have come to an Australian retailer and thence to its original owner, who appears to have cared for it extremely well and played it very gently.  Nut width 1-11/16” and full D neck profile; excellent neck set and action.  We’ve provided a fret polish and set up, no other work needed, and the guitar plays as smoothly as it looks.  The case is a green lined black Stamford style of the era.
