Dobro ‘Model 27’ 1936

$2,900.00

The serial number A1801 dates this clean, round neck, slotted headstock Dobro to 1936, the year in which the Dopera brothers in California moved body manufacturing and assembly to the Regal company in Chicago, while cones and coverplates were still made out west.   Double bound concert-size Birch body with sunburst lacquer. All components are original: 9” cone, aluminum spider, coverplate, tailpiece and tuners. The neck is a deep V profile of the era, nice and straight with rosewood fretboard and T (not bar) frets.  The 25” scale length, 1-3/4” nut width, 2-1/4” string spacing at bridge is very playable.  Strong balanced voice with no cone rattles or other issues.  From the original owners in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. With a 2-tone Stamford hard case of the era.
